How Much Does It Cost to Ship to Nigeria from the UK?
This is one of the most searched questions for anyone sending goods from the UK to Nigeria. The honest answer: it depends on weight, dimensions, destination state, and service type.
This guide gives you a complete 2026 cost of cargo shipping from UK to Nigeria breakdown so you know exactly what to expect before you book.
UK to Nigeria Shipping Cost — Key Factors
1. Weight (kg)
Cargo is primarily priced by kilogram. The heavier your shipment, the more you pay — but the rate per kg typically improves for larger shipments.
2. Volumetric Weight
If your parcel is large but light, companies charge by volumetric weight (length × width × height ÷ 5000). This prevents under-charging for bulky, light items.
3. Destination State in Nigeria
Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt attract the lowest rates. More remote or northern states may be slightly higher due to extended last-mile delivery costs.
4. Service Type
- Door-to-door: slightly higher but most convenient
- Depot drop-off: save £5–£15 per booking
5. Delivery Speed
- Standard: cheaper, 7–10 working days
- Express: 20–30% premium, 5–7 working days
